Event FAQs

Venue Breakdown
Our venue is broken up into 4 rooms for event hire. We generally start with Studio A as a base option and then add on rooms depending on capacity, event type and budget.
Ground room - Rec Room (entrance)
This room has a ball pit, basketball hoop, telephone booth and lockers.
Stairs lead up to the open plan Kitchen room with our 3 selfie sets, toilet and balcony.
Stairs lead up to our 3rd room - Minimal room 
This open plan room gets the best natural light in our venue and also has a balcony.
Stairs then lead down to our 4th room which is our Cyclorama, this room has another entrance to the car park, a toilet and kitchenette.

Photo Sets

We know you're probably used to our sets and the way they look—but we also know that sometimes things change. We can't guarantee that your set will look exactly like it does when you book it, because we're constantly working on new things, and sometimes those new things are just more awesome than what we had before!

Studio Tour
All studio tours will be taken on week days only. The option for a video tour is available for those who can not attend week day tours.

Studio tours will last no longer than 15 mins. All tours must arrive on time. 
If you are more than 10mins late we will not conduct the tour and you will be asked to pay a fee for your next studio tour if you choose to have one.

All studio tours after your initial free tour will be charged at $50 for a 30mins follow up tour. Please note we are not onsite at all times, and tours can not be taken during other bookings. This is why secondary studio tours, or studio tours rescheduled due to lateness will incur a fee for the loss of time available for paid bookings, as well as having staff on site to conduct the tour.


Please note that we do not allow people to take photos of themselves or their children in the sets during studio tours. If you need references for the size and shape of the venue we have a floor plan we are happy to provide you with.
Cancellations and no shows may be required to pay a fee of $50, if you have extenuating circumstances please contact the studio no less than 3 hours prior.

Deposits
A 25% non refundable deposit is required to secure your date and time. 
The remaining amount will be due no later than 2 weeks prior to your event date OR you have the option to pay the full invoice amount. 

Arriving for event:

Entry is via 20 Jones lane Rosebery or 108 Dunning avenue Rosebery.
Both the pedestrian and vehicular access to our gated complex requires that you use the following code 61* - please ensure all guests and services are provided with this code for drop off and pick up. Onsite parking is only available for up to 3 cars. If you require additional parking please let staff know prior to your event date.

Doors will not be opened prior to your event booking time, if you do require more time please let staff know prior to your date so we can adjust your booking fee. We do not tolerate any harassment of staff regarding this rule, and we ask that this is communicated clearly to any third party vendors, or guests who are assisting in the event set up so that we can prevent any unfortunate incidences and stress for all parties.
 -This rule is in place as often staff use the time to clean the venue or to have breaks between events, we both cannot guarantee that someone will be on- site or that the venue will be ready for your event until your stated booking time.

Please be mindful that the complex is within a mixed industrial and residential area, and keep noise to a minimum when entering and leaving the venue and complex. Our neighbours appreciate your respect.

Disability access
Unfortunately the only room we have onsite with wheel chair access is our Rec room on ground floor. We have multiple stairs in our venue.

Pram Parking

We do not have space within the venue during a busy event to cater to multiple prams being stored inside. We have a range of stairs throughout our venue also so a pram would have to be carried up these stairs.

Leaving the event
Exit is via 20 Jones lane Rosebery or 108 Dunning avenue Rosebery.

When collecting guests from the venue, we require that any non- attendees remain outside the complex so that we can prevent congestion within the shared complex and ensure that all patrons have left by the event end time.

Please be mindful that the complex is within a mixed industrial and residential area, and keep noise to a minimum when entering and leaving the venue and complex. Our neighbours appreciate your respect.

Leaving the venue via car, drive up to the closed gate and it will atomically open for you to leave.

Supervision of children
The supervision of children is the responsibility of the guests, the staff at Mimmynvovo are here to help maintain the venue during the event. We are not here to supervise any children, and do not have the legal capacity to take on that responsibility.

As such, we require at least one adult to be in any room that children are occupying at all times.

-We require at least one adult to be in any room that has an exit, to aid in keeping all attendees on site.
-Children are not to be in the carpark, or laneways during the event unless accompanied by a responsible adult/ guardian.
-We are not responsible for any potential injuries or unfortunate circumstances that arise from unsupervised children.
-Any child on site is the responsibility of the booking collectively, as such any damages that are created will be the responsibility of the booking, and charged to the card we have on file.

We take the safety of all children in our venue very seriously, as such we require a concerted effort from all in attendance to make sure that every child is accounted for and is able to have a safe and fun time in our venue.
If we feel that the booking is continuously neglecting to supervise, monitor or correct unsafe behaviours in our venue, we may end the event.


Alchohol
For any events between the ages of 12 to 17 we cannot allow any alcohol on site.

For any 18th if there is alcohol onsite every attendee must be over the legal drinking age (18 years old). If there are attendees under the age of 18, there is to be no alcohol on site. No exceptions.
We reserve the right to check the ID of any guests we suspect may be under the age of 18, and refuse entry if there is any alcohol.

Teen Events 12-19
For any teen events with a guest list of 50 or more: we are to be provided a list of all attendees.
All attendees are to have their name checked against the provided list and to have a wristband placed on their wrist which is to remain on until the end of the event.
If someone is to leave the premises after the event has started, and does not have a wrist band they may be refused reentry into the venue.
Security will be required for events with more than 45 teens in attendance, this cost will be factored into your quote.

Adult Events
For any adult events with a guest list of 75 or more: we are to be provided a list of all attendees.

All attendees are to have their name checked against the provided list and to have a wristband placed on their wrist which is to remain on until the end of the event.
If someone is to leave the premises after the event has started, and does not have a wrist band they may be refused reentry into the venue.

Security will be required for events with more than 75 adults in attendance, this cost will be factored into your quote.

We reserve the right to check the ID of any attendee of an 18th birthday with alcohol on site. If said attendee is unable to provide any ID/proof of age we will refuse entry.

Food
MimmynVovo is a BYO venue, if you require we can provide you with a list of trusted vendors for catering.
-We do not have an oven, so all food must be pre-made.
-We do have a small refrigerator, which you may use to store things such as Cake, Drinks, Fruits, Salads and cold meats. However if there is a need to have a large quantity of food stuffs refrigerated, please consider alternative methods for refrigeration.


-We do have a microwave that is available for guests to use at any time, If you have a large quantity of food that requires heating please consider alternative methods for doing so.
-We do allow appliances such as: Sandwich presses, bay Maries, portable electric ovens (NO gas, butane or naked flames).
-Third party vendors are able to bring what ever equipment they require to be able to cater the event. However if the food generates smoke, pungent smells, heat or uses flames in the preparation the vendors will be required to set up outside, either on our balconies or in the car spaces we have directly in front of the venue.
-We do allow for food trucks, however they must be parked within our parking spaces. So please consider the limitations of the space.

If you are getting catering delivered to the venue, please ensure this is not organised for days/ times outside your booking. We do not store anything in studio before or after the event. We are not responsible for any food/ items that are left outside of the studio in the shared parking area.
-Please be aware of the limitations for garbage, if your food comes in large cardboard boxes, please be aware that you may be required to take them with you when you leave, or else they will be counted in your provided garbage allowance.
-You may be charged for the disposal of excessive food waste.

Food and drink is not permitted in our ball pits or photo sets, any cleaning that we have to do as a result of failure to follow this rule may be charged. Please consider the future guests of our space before bringing food into the ball pits or sets.

At MimmynVovo we DO NOT allow: Chocolate fountains, cake smashes or food fights.

Water
At MimmynVovo we provide 2 filtered water stations for patroons to use at any time. These filtered water stations provide hot, cold and ambient water settings.
All drink wear is to be provided by the events organisers.

Garbage:
We know what you're thinking: “What happens with all of my garbage?"
Don't worry, we've got you covered! Included in our event venue hiring fee, is the removal of up to three 76-litre full garbage bags.

The studio is a clean and safe space, but when you're having a party, there's always going to be some mess left behind.

To help us keep it clean and safe for everyone, please take the extra garbage bags out of the studio with you. If you leave them behind, we'll charge you $50+GST per extra garbage bag.

Balconies
MimmynVovo has two balconies, the usage of these balconies may be restricted depending on the type/size of the event being held.
We may not provide access to the balconies for any of the following reasons.
- Parties with over 65 attendees.
- Alcohol being consumed at the event.
- Children’s events.
- DJ on site, or loud music being played.
- Weather extremes such as extreme heat, rain or wind.
The use of the balconies for caterers from may be exempt, with prior notice.
We also may require that the event cease usage of the balconies at any point during the event.

Props
MimmynVovo provides a multitude of props and interactive sets, we enjoy providing guests with fun costume pieces and interactive elements to enjoy.
In order to be able to keep providing the same standard to every booking that comes through our venue, we ask that care is taken when handling our props and sets.
- All props must be returned to their original location, or else left in venue at the end of the event.
- If patrons are seen damaging or breaking any of the sets or props we may remove the parties access to these items.
- All damages are the responsibility of the booking, and damages will be charged to the card on file.

Pack down / Clean up 

Whilst our staff are in attendance during your event assisting in clean up, it is the responsibility of the booking holder to ensure pack up is initiated no later than 15mins prior to their event end time. The responsibility to return the venue to its original state. 
*Sets all tidied
*props packed away
*ball pit balls put back
*kitchen benches wiped and cleaned
*all utensils, dishwater, boards, scissors, cutlery etc to be returned to the venue staff.
*fridges emptied (leftover food and drinks to be taken off premises)

If you are still cleaning after your event booking time has passed we may charge you additional fees for over time.

All attendees must be out of the venue by the end booking time.

Card hold/Stripe
Before entry to the venue the person who made the booking or any other responsible person must provide the details of an active card so that we can add the details into our secure back end system (stripe) This is for security purposes. The card will not be charged unless there is damages, additional time added to the booking or any extras such as disposal of excessive garbage or excessive cleaning fees.
Any additional charges will be discussed before being put through, failure to pay for damages or extra services may be pursued under legal advisory. 
MimmynVovo reserves the right to cancel any event that has a failure/ refusal to provide a card for the security hold.
